Is the moon rounder overseas

Mooncake festival always brings back fond memories of my bodek didi and this is not the first time I start a blog with this phrase. This is my second mooncake festival in Koala Land. As expected it did not make a blip in the commercial world here. No one would know the significance of this day unless told by a Chinese.

I actually attempted to educate my colleagues not that they were interested. I reminded uncle and family of the impending mooncake festival and uncle promptly bought a couple of mooncakes. Aunty also bought some from hometown as well. Cousin Rain sent me 10 paper lanterns to help boost the festive mood. Unfortunately they were somewhere in the South China Sea at the moment. I am sure they will reach before next year's Mooncake Festival.

Although my cousins never appreciate the meaning behind this festival (no fault of theirs), uncle and aunt were all for it. Uncle brewed tea, call us all to enjoy the mooncake. Cousins had some too in the spirit of the festival.

I took this pig, a souvenir from hometown as a portrayal of myself. Had oodles of fun posing it with the mooncakes until I caught uncle snickering at me.

Me : What....?

Uncle : How old are you?

Me: 18 thank you...

Uncle : Chew...

Me: Cheh....

I miss mooncake celebration in my hometown.
